Art and Culture at the V&A

The Victoria and Albert is the world's greatest museum of art and design, with collections unrivalled in their scope and diversity. You can explore 3000 years of amazing artefacts from many of the world's richest cultures, including ceramics, furniture, fashion, glass, jewellery, metalwork, photographs, sculpture, textiles and paintings.

As this world class attraction is on our doorstep, the Egerton House hotel makes the perfect base from which to visit their spectacular exhibitions. We’ve therefore put together a special package to help you make the most of these uniquely fascinating events.

Decode: Digital Design Sensations (8 December 2009 - 11 April 2010). Digitally growing plants and a mechanical eye that mirrors the blink of a visitor's gaze – this exhibition will show the latest developments in digital and interactive design, from small screen based graphics to large-scale installations.

Quilts (20 March - 4 July 2010). This exhibition will showcase the V&A's collection of patchwork and quilted covers to bring together over 300 years of British quilting history, from the spectacular bed hangings and silk coverlets of the 18th century, to the creative reinvention of the quilt by contemporary artists.

Grace Kelly: Style Icon (17 April - 26 September 2010). The spectacular wardrobe of Grace Kelly will be on display at the V&A. The display will present over 50 of Grace Kelly's outfits together with hats, jewellery and the original Hermès Kelly bag.

There are few experiences as relaxing as a cruise – it’s such a wonderful way to discover new destinations, create new friendships and explore fresh shores. With this in mind we’ve come up with a special package to prolong the pleasure and help you make the experience even more magical.

Our special cruise package gives you two nights in London at the Egerton House Hotel plus your transfers between the airport and your cruise liner for your outward and return journeys. The two nights can be taken before you step aboard, to help you settle into the swing of your holidays whilst sampling some of the delights that London has to offer. Or you may choose to break your return journey with a city stay on the way home. Either way you’ll have a couple of extra days and nights to unwind in one of Europe’s most fascinating, welcoming and vibrant capital cities.

What’s more, knowing that the journeys between airport, hotel and cruise liner are all sorted means you have nothing to worry about – you can step off your plane, and ashore from your voyage, without a care in the world!
