Event: Eva Rothschild - Tate Britain's Duveens' Commission
Date: June 29th until November 29th
Eva Rothschild is the sixth prominent artist to be selected for the Tate Britain's Duveen Galleries commissions and visitors will see something the likes of which the Tate has never seen before.
The Dublin-born sculptor has made a name for herself through striking images and objects that investigate the ever-changing relationships between volume, mass surface and structure in the modern world.
Using minimal materiality, her new commission, a 70-foot sculpture which will stretch the full length of the gallery, will bring a chaos and energy to the neoclassical galleries.
She is the sixth artist to be chosen for the series, following in the footsteps of Mark Wallinger and Martin Creed, and, if she is as successful as they were in generating interest and thought, the exhibition should please all art fans.
Something else which will put a smile on their face is the class and quality of the luxury London hotel the Egerton House.
Female travellers who book the Best Dressed by Kate Starkey package can look forward to a two-night stay in a beautiful room, a welcome glass of champagne, a full English breakfast each day and a custom-made shift dress designed from an extensive range of fabrics.
