Event: Van Dyck and Britain
Date: Feb 18 - May 17

Fans of Belgian-born painter Sir Anthony van Dyck will be able to see a "sumptuous" exhibition of his life works at the Tate until the end of May.

The artist's work will be on view in the capital's venue, near luxury London hotel the 41, with it already receiving rave reviews.

Various pieces from the 17th century painter will be on display, including those more famous portraits from the run-up to the British Civil War in the mid-1600s.

The Tate describes the exhibition as "visually sumptuous" and displaying "some of the finest and most magnificent paintings that van Dyck produced during his years in Britain".

People wanting to learn more about the artist will not be disappointed, as the showcase of his art explores the context of the work, including his use of costume and inspirations for the pieces.

Tickets to the show cost £12.20 at full price, reducing for concessions and over 60s, with it also including entry to other exhibitions at the gallery.
