Ellen Gallagher has established herself as one of the brightest contemporary artists in the world and visitors to the luxury London hotel the Egerton House can see why in a new exhibition coming to the South London Gallery at the end of March.
Her reputation has been forged on her exquisite and challenging work around themes from politics, history, myth, science, music and literature, with her interpretations often forcing viewers to think about a subject in a different way.
She uses a diverse range of sources to get her message across, with previous installations made up from newspaper advertisements and archival photographs, as well as drawings, sketches and paintings.
The Experiment of Unusual Opportunity exhibition sees the New York-born artist explore issues of race, identity and transformation through an installation of large-scale paintings and works on paper.
Art fans are unlikely to be disappointed with Ms Gallagher's latest take on the world and something else which will put a smile on their faces is the Kate Starkey Couture package at the Egerton House hotel.
