Beyond the Wall - New Music From China at the Barbican Centre

Event: Beyond the Wall - New Music From China
Date: March 21st until May 16th

China is a country which has changed significantly in recent years, emerging as an economic heavyweight on the global stage and experiencing an explosion in popular culture.

Artistically and musically, the nation is heading in a new direction and guests at the luxury London hotel the Egerton House will have the opportunity to experience part of it for themselves by attending the Beyond the Wall - New Music From China festival.

Featuring composer Tan Dun, the event is a new concept which seeks to explore and promote emerging trends in the country's music scene and shine the spotlight on those behind this drive.

Visitors will see performances from the likes of Zhangjiajie Folk Daliuzi Group and the Kronos Quartet, while Mr Dun will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

There will also be a focus on the emerging underground music scene in China and from the country's grassland regions.

For people interested in China and its culture, this event is not to be missed.

Something else guests at the Egerton House can enjoy is the Get More From Your Stay package, which includes traditional afternoon tea, a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, £50 worth of Harrods shopping vouchers and two tickets to the Tower of London.
