In Doctor Atomic, Adams turns his attention to the creation of the atomic bomb and how it changed the face of the world.
Rather than simply telling the story of its inception, development and making, the opera will prompt audience members to consider the moral dilemma this destructive weapon produced.
Making its UK premier at the Coliseum, the show will feature stage work from award-winning director Penny Woodcock and designs by Julian Crouch.
