Altermodern: Tate Triennial 2009 at the Tate Britain

Event: Altermodern: Tate Triennial 2009
Date: February 3rd until April 26th

The Tate Britain will welcome the Altermodern Triennial event in February, an event which will draw art lovers from far and wide to the capital for an in-depth look into where the art world is heading.

With creative aficionados descending on the city, top-quality accommodation will be in high demand.

By booking a suite at the luxury London hotel the Egerton House, visitors can enjoy a stay at an establishment famed for its comfort and class.

With lodgings secured, art enthusiasts can look forward to this celebration of creative genius, which brings a selection of contemporary art from some of Britain's most promising talent, as well as work from renowned international figures.

The curator, Nicholas Bourriaud, has named the exhibition Altermodern, a term he is proposing as a description for the way artists are responding to the increasingly global context prevalent in today's world.

Mr Bourriaud sees the era of postmodernism as having come to an end and this showcase will seek to issue in a new epoch of creative culture.

Issues such as communication, travel and migration will be explored in terms of their effect on artists through a variety of mediums, including painting, film and video and installations.

Guests at the Egerton House who want to make their weekend away a full-on appreciation of the arts can opt for the hotel's Victoria and Albert package.

The deal includes fruit and chocolates on arrival, a full English breakfast each day, champagne afternoon tea for two and tickets to the Victoria and Albert museum.
