The saying goes that you do not know where you are going until you know where you have been and that theme will be in evidence at The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Winter Fair.
Attendees will be given an insight into how the old and the new can mix together as a background for modern living, with exhibitors and designers coming together to showcase wonderful antiques and fabulous materials.
The highlight of the show will be an exploration into the history of chintz, a fabric imported in large quantities from India in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Visitors will see how this material became a staple for English country houses, while there will also be antique examples for sale.
Another place where people can experience the warmth and comfort of different fabrics is a suite at the luxury London hotel the Milestone.
