The Senses at Harrods

Event: The Senses at Harrods
Date: February 4th to 28th March 2008

Residents of luxury London hotel the Egerton are in for a treat in the coming weeks when they take a shopping trip to the nearby Harrods emporium.

Taking place from now until March 28th will be Senses at Harrods - quite literally the "sensational" adventure it purports to be.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to indulge their five senses throughout the store, under the titles listen, stroke, gaze, inhale and savour.
Sounds that are set to brighten the shopping experience of guests from luxury London hotel the Egerton include "sweet sounds of summer" and noises of a "bustling" fairground.

For those for whom touch is an important sensation, the Stroke section of the concept includes the Senses Beauty Lounge where shoppers can enjoy massages to facials and more.

Door 5 in Hans Crescent on the ground floor offers customers a visual and sensual experience which "captures the imagination". Thanks to a motion-sensitive interactive installation, shoppers will believe themselves to be walking on a fish pond, within clusters of spring daffodils or on a bed of roses.

Perfumes will tantalise the noses of discerning shoppers while epicureans can look forward to the Savour section of the installation, which among other things pairs Moet & Chandon Rose Champagne and limited-edition Laduree macaroons.

For socially conscious guests of luxury London hotel the Egerton, Harrods is also currently running its FEED bag programme which aims to raise awareness about child hunger and raise money for a school feeding scheme run by the UN World Food Programme.

The FEED 1 bag is made entirely of sustainable material and costs £30, with none of the proceeds going to Harrods.
